A Real, Raw Interview with My Dad, Jim Pigden About Life and Loss

Allison Arruda Episode 162

TW: Losing a loved one, mental health, suicide, grief

On this week’s episode, I’m dipping into a slightly heavier topic and doing something a little different in honour of the anniversary of my Dad’s passing. I felt called to share this interview I did with my Dad in the summer of 2020 (a challenging time in the world) when we had a celebration for my brother Garrett and what would have been his 50th birthday. My Dad has some profound lessons that he shares that I think are also especially relevant to the world today, and how we need more love and kindness.

In this episode, we talk about:
• What did my Dad learn from brother?
• What life lessons did he learn from losing him?
• What message(s) has he learned or someone that has lost a family member too soon?
• What does the world need more of right now?

If you’re on a grief journey of your own, please know I’m sending you lots of love and strength. Life is short and unexpected but we only get one shot at it, so my advice to you all is to live your life to the fullest and to live with JOY!
